Game Features

The first set in the Metalium block, Metalium features 407 cards.

Metalium introduces several new mechanics to Magic, as well as a completely new card type – Sheaf cards.

Lemuria has survived for centuries without any major conflicts between clans and creatures - but that’s about to change. With the advent of metallurgy and the discovery of vast amounts of aluminum and magnesium ore deposits under portions of Lemuria’s surface, it’s now a race against the clock for each clan to stake a claim and wield dominance over the land. With newer and better metals, the buildings are stronger, armor is lighter and tougher, and weapons are deadlier.
The wise (and often criticized - due to his pacifist ways) Lord Weird Slough Feg of Caylen-Tor wasn’t directly concerned about ascertaining the ore, as they currently have no means to mine or smelt the ore. However, they do have a vested interest in self-preservation from more dominant foes.
“People laugh and say I'll never win.
No one understands I'm the one who's sane.”
Perhaps the eager green beast Eldritch said it best: “We are born to wage wars!”
As mighty as white and black are, they’re also at a disadvantage when it comes to advanced techniques for the manipulation of metals – they prefer to do it the old-fashioned way: with a forge and a blacksmith. And the Blackhelm Vale clan definitely puts the “black” in blacksmith.
Ultima Thule has the best chance of surrounding and securing the fields with their vast array of weather manipulation and toxic contaminants, but the largest deposits of ore are located at the base of the mountains on the outskirts of Angsaar – and Hades Almighty knows this. With the proximity to the deposits and the high-temperature blast furnaces located in Angsaar, red will be hard pressed to not emerge from Metalium in complete control of Lemuria.
